Loadcell Replacement Project

Loadcell Replacement Project

Chemical Processing Industry Mechanical Engineering Support

Project Brief

Replace defective loadcells on a critical piece of manufacturing equipment. The client, a leading provider of specialty chemicals for the agriculture, nutrition, fine chemicals, pharmaceutical and industrial markets to name a few, sought assurance in competency, expertise and professionalism to deliver their project safely, within strict time frames and to the highest regulatory standards for their complex site.

Challenge

During the project the team overcame multiple challenges including restricted working space, hazardous area working and multiple 30+ year old rusted in nuts and bolts. Using a range of traditional engineering methods mixed with specialist low profile and hazardous area safe equipment the team overcame the challenge on time and in budget.

Timeframe

The team were tasked with completing the works within the scheduled downtime narrow window of seven days in order to ensure production loss was kept to a minimum. Our engineers completed the works within one and a half days giving the client additional time to complete further maintenance work and ensure the plant was ready to go at the end of day seven.

 Communication

Throughout the project our team consistently communicated with the client to a high standard, regularly updating the client on progress and any issues that were found and overcame. Following completion of works their Lead Mechanical Engineer contacted us to say:

“Thanks to your guys for completing the R16 weigh cell replacements in a safe and professional manner. Your team completed the work ahead of schedule which is great especially as they came across several challenges. We face many challenges day to day on our site and it is always great to find a supplier that understands our issues and is still able to deliver. I would have no hesitation in recommending ME Engineering and look forward to inviting you back to site when another suitable package of work arises.”.
